Spume

Location: Mariana

Size: ~60 cm, size slightly varies.

Characteristics: A black, orb-shaped creature with two large eyes. It can encase itself into a bubble that it shapes to be tear-drop shaped with four stubby ‘legs’ on the bottom.

Description: These entities reside in the blue, dimly lit corridors on the edges of Mariana, idly floating and not seeming to do anything in particular. Spumes reside in groups of five to fifteen, but it is unknown if this happenstance of being near each other or a real drive to be social. Their bubbles are shown to be quite durable whenever they bump into each other or the walls, as it takes a larger amount of force to pop them. When Spume bubbles are popped, they can be submerged in water 2 to regenerate them.

It was thought that Spumes do not control their floating, but they actively move away from other entities such as Sailors. This has led to the hypothesis that they simply do not care to move until there is an active threat.
