Spospo

Size: 86 cm

Characteristics: Glowing, iridescent entities that have five legs each. While shining with multiple colors, they are typically white. Rarer specimens exhibit multicolored patterns known as ‘painted’ Spospos.

Description: Spospos are an uncommon sight within dark interior areas of the Far Plane. They may be found in small groups of two to eight, and are hardly ever seen alone.

Spospos avoid humans in most circumstances, especially those carrying light fixtures necessitated by their dark habitats. Direct light on their bodies activates a freezing mechanism that makes them unable to move, assuming a catatonic state and position. If light is not moved off of them then they will begin to wither in light. Their bodies may be restored by relocating them back into complete darkness.

Spospos engage in a stacking behavior in which one will climb onto and attach to another, closing their eyes and entering a ‘sleep’ state. Individuals that are carrying another may climb on top of a different Spospo and make Spospo ‘towers.’ These towers seem to not hinder the base individual in any significant way but may block entry into areas with lower ceilings.

Despite their appearances, Spospos are entirely corporeal and are notably light.
