Scopopede

Location: Varies

Size: 209 cm

Characteristics: A tall, black quadruped covered in paper-like ribbons. It possesses wide beady eyes with black pupils that can reflect ambient light. Its legs are actually coiled ribbons that may furl out to be much longer.

Description: There is only one known Scopopede to exist and it is found in interior areas of the Far Plane, notably within dark areas. It will stealthily wander dark hallways, but is capable of using its ribbons to grasp high surfaces and climb vertical areas. It can at times be spotted hanging motionlessly from the ceiling in a curled cocoon position.

The entity engages regularly in stalking-like behaviors towards humans. It follows targets at a distance and observes their behavior, over time getting closer. It has exhibited these behaviors for days on end and will only stop if noticed or its target exits a viable area for it. It can be noticed through the rustling sound its body makes as it moves.

Despite the behaviors it exhibits it has never harmed a human. It is averse to being observed or approached, even by other extraplanar entities. If looked at for too long or approached the Scopopede will flee out of sight, and if it is cornered it will curl up into a harmless ball.

It will also investigate new objects and may be a hazard to unattended research equipment that has been left out on the field. The entity may be distracted from stalking or investigating objects through being offered decoys for it to interact with at a distance.
