Night Skies

Size: ~6 cm, size slightly varies

Characteristics:They take the appearance of lopsided and organic-looking five-pointed stars. Night Skies glow in the dark with a variety of colors and appear an off-white in light. Their texture when touched is spongy yet similar to plastic.

Description:Night Skies grow across the ceilings of dark places in the Far Plane. They have a structure similar to mycelium that they root the inside of interiors with, sprouting new fruiting bodies as night skies. However, this process only occurs in the Far Plane when night sky fruiting bodies are removed. Otherwise, they do not grow or wither but rather ‘move’ over time across structures.

When an organism eats them, their mycelium roots inside of its body, unimpeded by heat. Then Night Skies will sprout outside their skin and slowly engulf the host. This can cause fatigue and difficulty moving within the host. While seemingly non-lethal, this can pose a major hindrance.

Night Skies can be removed from the host through anti-fungal medication.
